How many days do you need for safari and beach?
Most people split it 5 to 6 days on safari and 4 to 5 days on the beach, about 10 or 11 days in all. You can go shorter, with 4 safari days and 3 at the beach, or longer, with 7 and 5. Give the Northern Circuit at least 4 days and the beach at least 3 full days to unwind. You fly from the safari to Zanzibar. We book that flight with the trip, so you leave camp after breakfast and reach the beach hotel by lunch. How do you get from safari to Zanzibar?
Direct flights connect Serengeti/Arusha to Zanzibar in about 1 hour. We book the flight as part of your package. You leave camp after breakfast, fly over the bush, and arrive at your beach hotel by lunch. No overnight in Dar es Salaam needed.
How many days for safari vs beach?
The most common split is 5-6 days safari + 4-5 days beach (10-11 days total). You can go shorter (4+3) or longer (7+5). We recommend at least 4 safari days for the Northern Circuit parks and at least 3 full beach days to properly unwind.
Which Zanzibar beach is best after safari?
Nungwi (north) has the least tidal variation and great sunset views. Kendwa is quieter with boutique hotels. Paje (east) is perfect for kitesurfing and backpackers. Kizimkazi (south) offers dolphin encounters. For luxury, Mnemba Island is unmatched.
